Fantastich game against Les last night.

Denied his sneaky micro tanks mad dash for my objective with a desperate hail of MG fire from a decimated squad. Both the mortar and medics paid for themselves. The scout card also pulled a sneaky recce move after getting two ambushing units to fire at it before slamming it into reverse and spending most of the game hiding behind a warehouse.
Passing a leadership test with 5 pinning marks one one unit was a nice plus.

Game came down to attrition points and as i was using veteran infantry every loss cost me dearly.

A fun game indeed. Pesky recce tanks! If only my antitank rifle could penetrate the f@@@ing thing! I was really worried as those assault rifles started to bear down on the woods my objective was hidden in, happily the artillery finally came good in turn 5 and started to vaporise veteran squad after veteran squad. They must have been inspired by the German mortar. In hindsight (blessed thing that it is) I should have risked starting the dash across the board a turn earlier with the artillery tractor, it probably would have made it. I was just worried by the hq unit and squad pinned down by the woods (lots of panzerfausts!) The game definitely swung one way and the other, the thing that probably swung it was the difference in the costs between my regular squads and your uber veteran squads of doom.
Smile! It's not that bad!

Fantastic game on Tuesday.
Went up against desert brits with my Italy based germans so we decided to meet in neutral ground ...Belgium. A small village situated on a road was our playground.
My Sniper deployed in a ruin overlooking the entire village and my spotter took up a position at the edge of the village flare gun clutched in sweaty palm.

A British machine gun team was the first unit to make the dash into the village his bravery cut short with a single 8mm Mauser round.
A newly assigned army unit rushed forward and claimed my first objective and we were off.
Again British artillery show its support for the 3rd Reich as a misfire wiped out the spotter who called it in, his commanding officer, a sniper and pinned two squads into the ground.
The brits armour lumbered forward and set up position to cover the middle objective and then took 6 Panzerfaust to the face but only stunning the crew.

End of the day brits held two objectives as did the Green Devils the 3rd objective slipping out of our hands in turn 5 due to some horrible shooting.

Great game really was :D
