After a very promising start, with the hasty intervention of the Lizards' apothecary needed to stop their Kroxigor spending the rest of the game in the dugout, the inability of Beastmen to defend against agile dodgers was once again influential in determining the scoreline. A relatively straightforward exchange of scores in the first half saw the game tied at half time. The action in the second half turned scrappy, as a ruck developed to one side of the pitch thanks to a loose ball from the ball-carrier being brought down in the middle of a close formation of players from both sides. After a few turns of neither side managing to secure possession, threatening a draw, the breakthrough eventually came from the lizards, with the Lightweights' saurus contingent keeping most of my team busy while their trio of skinks ducked and skipped past slow-witted beastmen to pounce on the loose ball and run it into the end zone as the game neared its conclusion.

Meanwhile Kevin was lucky to avoid meeting an untimely demise, being kept alive thanks to the timely application of some dark Tzeentchy magic from the team shaman.

Next up, elves. Oh goody.

Knowing that the opposition for this game was going to be very capable of dealing out injuries, and very resilient when being subjected to them, I decided to go for broke with my inducements by hiring Max Spleenripper - a chainsaw-weilding chaos warrior - plus a bribe to keep him in the game for as long as possible.

The plan seemed to be going well for a while after the kick off, with a couple of early chainsaw-inflicted casualties suffered by the Chargers, but it wasn't long before the war of attrition swung the other way, with a procession of Flux players making their way to the dugout. In the end, the superior defensive play of the Chargers won the game for them, as they were able to turn over a second half Flux drive after scoring in the first.

Caught in Flux vs The Grumpy Gits
Score: 3-1

A good game against a solid team played in pouring rain. The beastmen combined well to punch a hole in the Gits line and run the ball carrier through for the first touchdown in a textbook piece of Blood Bowl play. The next drive saw the Dwarves move the ball to the half way line before a blitzing minotaur knocked the ball free, offering a slim scoring opportunity to the Chaos team which was taken just before the half time whistle. Being two touchdowns behind going into the second half was bad news for the slow moving Dwarves, but a well-protected runner responded well by scoring in three turns. A riot that added extra time to the game gave more hope to the Gits, which was added to by a surprise dash behind the Chaos lines by a Dwarf blitzer to put pressure on the beastman holding the ball, but some fast running and an audacious pass moved the ball into a safe position deep into the Gits half, which allowed the Chaos team to run down the clock on the match before scoring their third touchdown of the game.
