It was fun. I loved it.

Off to Easyarmy.com to work on 1k lists.

Is it okay if I carry on using my Churchill VIIs as VIs with applique armour?

I won't have the points to make them VIIs until the final round, and I'm loath to buy extra tanks when I won't need them for larger games.

(cough) Famo (cough)

Incidently, the Famo may have had to join a platoon, or become a platoon in its own right.
I don't have my book with me but page 260 HQ Support Platoon Transport has been nudged in my direction on the BF forum, saying empty transport teams have to join a combat or weapons platoon. Not sure if is meant to apply to recovery vehicles too or not.
Either that or, as a tank company, all HQ support has to form a platoon in it's own right, under the 2ic (or other nominated model if there is no 2ic). If it's a platoon, destroying it should contribute to a company morale check.
Don't know which rule has precedence.

I know I won anyways, but this will affect how I deploy my Churchill ARV too, so I'll have a looksey in the book tonight.

No mate, page 45 in the rule book under sub section Recovery Vehicles are Independent Teams "Recovery Vehicles are Independent teams, so are able to move wherever they need to go to do their job. Then page 176 Ignore Warrior and Independent Teams section "Ignore Warrior and Independent Teams when determining whether your company has more platoons Destroyed than still fighting.

If your ARV is an Recovery Vehicle then it follows the same rules.

In what way different? It's in the arsenal under transport teams, as a recovery vehicle, same as the Famo. Is it because mine's armoured?

Sorry I was reading having Sam and Jamie talking to me, and had re-changed what I typed before you replayed.

No worries. So the ARV and Famo can bimble about on their own without risking anything (except their own sorry hides, of course).

Still have to keep my Churchill VCS and Crusader AA with the 2ic though. Does mean he'll probably have to head up the centre of any table with a regular platoon on either side of him.

Unless I leave the AA at the back to cover the artillery maybe. But that can wait for the big game at the end of the campaign.
