New Blood, Old bones: A tale of muppet gaming

To mark the launch of WFB8, a few of us are starting new armies, starting at 750 points and then growing in 250 point blocks.

New Blood, Old bones: A tale of muppet gaming

Post by daniel_cave00 » Wed Jul 07, 2010 10:51 am

As the saying goes, you cant keep a good man down. Well thats definitely true with all those Necromancers running around in the Warhammer World. So as another saying goes, If you cant beat them going em!

So a while back I decided to get into Fantasy, I have been avoiding it for a while simply because I didnt relish the prospect of owning more unpainted models. However considering I have decided to sell all my Orks and Mantic Games have started producing some really fine Undead models I have picked up the book of the dead and started raising an army.

I am not really settled on an army list at the moment however I am settled on the idea of lots of Skeletons! Oh and my usual calling card of Female models.

As such I will be starting off with either one of the following lists

Code: Select all

Heroes -
Lady Margolla (Vampire)

Core -
Skeleton Regiment 20 strong (HW+S)

Skeleton Regiment 18 Strong (Spears)

Special -
Grave Guard Regiment 15 Strong (HW + S)

Or

Code: Select all

Heroes -
Lady Margolla (Vampire)

Core -
Skeleton Regiment 20 strong (HW+S)

Skeleton Regiment 18 Strong (Spears)

Special -
Spirit Hosts 3 Bases Strong

Really all depends on how much time I get to convert and paint. Vampire is done though, a picture has been placed on the mailing list and I will be updating this later to. I will be playing around with my list over the next couple of days and be posting back (along with a few photos of painted skeletons!) soon.

Ra HA HA HA!!!

Mantic Games are going to be doing ZOMBIES!!!! Apparently they are due for a September release, which means that I will probably only have to do stand ins for the first month. I am going to be mocking up some zombies from random WH models, they wont be perfect but they will be adequente enough for stand ins.

Or don't have zombies until september  How big will the mantic zombie box be? Or are there no details yet?
Also I think I've been sent another mantic ghoul if you want it

I did read a rumour that it was going to be like that. I have picked out a few random models to represent any zombies that I end up raising from the dead. I am even going to be making some semi cool spirit hosts, ideas completely stolen form the Internetz!!!

Speaking of stuff from the internetz here is my first painted VC mini

The dead are rising slowly! Here are my first Skeletons

Its laughably easy to paint halfway decent Skeletons, just got to motivate myself to paint a whole load more of them. Also got to speed up my painting so that I can get them done faster.
